Le’Veon Bell knee injury video – Steelers’ playoff hopes in jeopardy

Le’Veon Bell left the second half of the Steelers-Bengals game Sunday with a knee injury suffered following a hit from Reggie Nelson.

Bell caught a pass midway through the third quarter and took it 19 yards before being nailed by Nelson. The Steelers began giving the ball to Dri Archer after Bell’s injury, and they eventually gave it to Josh Harris in the fourth quarter.

Bell left the field but actually watched himself on video afterwards:

He was declared “doubtful” to return following the hit.

Did Nelson go too low on the hit? This seems to show he was mostly targeting the thigh area:

If Bell is out for a significant length of time, that will be a killer for Pittsburgh’s playoff chances. Bell is one of the top backs in the league and the running game is a big part of Pittsburgh’s offense. He is not just an above-average runner, but also an outstanding receiver.
