Le’Veon Bell may not play against Ravens

LeVeon Bell knee

The Pittsburgh Steelers may have to begin their postseason journey without their most important offensive player.

According to Aditi Kinkhabwala of the NFL Network, a source within the Steelers organization says it “doesn’t look good” for Bell heading into Saturday’s wild-card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bell took a hard hit to the knee area on Sunday night in a 27-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that an MRI revealed a hyperextension for Bell and no ligament damage, but that it will still be “difficult” for him to play.

Bengals cornerback Reggie Nelson, the player who hit Bell, was confronted by Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin after the game. Tomlin later claimed the finger-pointing had nothing to do with the hit on Bell.

Bell has been arguably the best running back in the NFL this season. He was the NFL’s second leading rusher with 1,361 rushing yards and set a Steelers franchise record with 2,215 total yards from scrimmage. His impact is equally great in both the running and passing games.
