Le’Veon Bell suspension reportedly result of ‘several’ missed drug tests
The missed drug test that led to Le’Veon Bell’s suspension was apparently not an isolated incident.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Bell missed “several” drug tests that led to his four-game suspension. Bell plans to appeal, and the league will give him the opportunity to explain why he missed the tests. However, if the suspension is the result of multiple missed tests, it seems like a longshot that his appeal will be successful. Perhaps he could have begged his way out of one absence, but if it’s a repeated pattern of behavior, it’s hard to see the NFL rules being sympathetic.
It’s the second season in a row Bell has been hit with a suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. At least unlike the last one, this one did not follow an arrest.
Expect D’Angelo Williams to get the bulk of the carries for Pittsburgh in Bell’s absence.
