The Detroit Lions may be without their starting running back for the rest of the season.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team believes Abdullah will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ligament in his left foot.

While Abdullah would have been able to return after missing eight games and the belief had been that he would be back before the season ended, the team itself fears that he won’t be back in 2016.

That leaves Theo Riddick as Detroit’s lead back. It remains to be seen if they will look to add another running back given the news, though the team did work out one of its former players at the position during the week.
