Louis Murphy arrested for carrying gun at airport

Louis Murphy Bucs

Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Louis Murphy was arrested on a gun charge at Tampa International Airport Wednesday morning.

According to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times, Murphy has been charged with one felony count of carrying a concealed weapon. The 29-year-old was found to be in possession of a firearm when he was stopped at a security checkpoint. He was later released on $2,000 bond. No additional information about the arrest has been revealed.

Murphy last played for the Bucs in 2015, when he appeared in six games and caught just 10 passes for 198 yards. The former Florida star was on Tampa Bay’s roster in 2016 but missed the entire season due to a knee injury. He is currently a free agent.

If you remember, Murphy was arrested for something even more embarrassing several years ago when he was with the Oakland Raiders. It would not be a surprise if his NFL career is over.
