Magic Johnson tries to recruit Peyton Manning to the Rams (Video)
Magic Johnson is trying to recruit Peyton Manning to the Los Angeles Rams.
The two appeared together on Wednesday’s Tonight Show, and Johnson – who is on record as being the first Rams season ticketholder – began recruiting him right to his face.
“I tried to talk somebody out of retirement and come to the Rams,” Johnson told Fallon while gesturing toward Manning. “I said, ‘Man, if you play again, come to the Rams.’ I was working on him backstage. I will even chip in some money.”
Manning appeared rather embarrassed, and Johnson accurately noted he was a bit red in the face.
“Look, look, look,” Johnson said, pointing to Manning again. “He’s turning a few colors over here.”
“I’m getting embarrassed,” Manning conceded.
“I want to cheer for him if he don’t retire as a Ram,” Johnson said. “I got my recruiting hat on right now.”
Magic would be happy to know that the Rams have reportedly talked about signing Manning if he decides to come back and play another season. However, all signs point to Manning hanging them up after his Super Bowl win.
