Report: Marshawn Lynch has thought about return, Seahawks may not want him

Marshawn Lynch Seahawks

Marshawn Lynch has reportedly told a pair of ex-teammates that he has thought about returning to the NFL in 2016, but the Seattle Seahawks may not want him back even if he does.

According to Bleacher Report’s Jason Cole, Lynch told two former teammates that he is still considering playing in 2016, though his agent does not expect it to happen.

Further complicating things is the fact that if Lynch did return, the Seahawks may not be interested in his services. Lynch has a $9 million cap hit, and after an injury-riddled 2015 and the emergence of Thomas Rawls, Seattle may just look to move on from Lynch.

Both Michael Bennett and Richard Sherman have floated the possibility of Lynch playing again. His teammates love him, but considering there were rumors that Lynch and the Seahawks would part ways even if he didn’t retire, it’s no surprise that Seattle may just want to let him go. It’s a significant cap hit, particularly with his injury issues, and they’ve already been preparing for life without him anyway.
