Report: Mike Glennon feels ‘cheated on’ after Mitchell Trubisky pick

Mike Glennon

Count Mike Glennon in the group of people unhappy with the Chicago Bears’ first round draft pick, at least according to a report.

The Bears quarterback, who was actually at the team’s Soldier Field draft party, “felt as though he had been cheated on” by the team he’d signed with for $18.5 million guaranteed just seven weeks earlier, sources told Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune.

Glennon has been assured by the organization that he is the team’s starting quarterback, but he, like everyone else, learned of the Mitchell Trubisky pick when it was made. Campbell said the decision to draft a quarterback No. 2 overall — after trading up to get him — has damaged the trust between Glennon and the Bears’ front office.

It looks increasingly like the Bears’ decision to leave everyone in the dark on their Trubisky plans has bred some really bad feelings. The reports coming out do not paint a pretty picture of the organization’s internal dynamics.
