Mike Tomlin cried in locker room after loss to Broncos
Sunday night’s playoff defeat was apparently a very tough pill to swallow for Steelers coach Mike Tomlin.
According to Lindsay H. Jones of USA Today Sports, players said Tomlin cried while addressing the team in the locker room after the 23-16 defeat, and his eyes were still red as the team prepared to head home.
“I’ve never seen him cry before,” said wide receiver Martavis Bryant.
You can understand why Tomlin was so distraught. Despite all their injuries and the adversity they faced, they led the top-seeded Broncos at Denver late into the fourth quarter before their defense finally wore down and Denver took advantage of a Steelers fumble to get into the end zone with three minutes remaining and go ahead for good, and unlike last week at Cincinnati, there was no remarkable comeback for Pittsburgh on this day. The tears are following Pittsburgh everywhere they go this postseason. Perhaps Tomlin was just upset about some of his choices during the defeat?
