Myles Garrett says he cannot be a ‘savior’ for the Browns

Myles Garrett

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is prepared for high expectations after being the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft, but warned that he won’t be able to fix the franchise all by himself.

Garrett made clear that “one person can’t win games” in speaking with NFL Network’s Aditi Kinkhabwala on Friday.

“It takes a culmination of all these guys coming together and just having the attitude that we’re not going to lose. And that’s what we’re going to do,” Garrett said. “I can’t be a savior, but I can be the best I can be. I can give it my all and make plays and dominate my side of the field, but it takes all 11 guys with a certain thought process that we’re going to go out there and we’re going to win.”

Garrett has received a whole lot of hype before and since being drafted. He’s right that he can’t save the Browns organization singlehandedly, but if the team is going to become a contender, he’s going to be expected to be a big part of the turnaround.
