Oddsmakers suggest Carson Wentz’s absence may be lengthy

Carson Wentz

We still do not know when Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will be back on a football field, but we do get the occasional hint that the absence may not be a brief one.

That’s reflected in new odds released by BetDSI, who don’t see Wentz playing until Week 10 of the NFL season.

Wentz is listed as +150 to return in Week 10 or later. Notably, the second-best odds are for Weeks 2-4, so oddsmakers still see a quicker return as within the realm of possibility. However, they feel that if Wentz isn’t back by Week 4, it will be a while before we see him.

The sportsbook still thinks the Eagles will have a winning record when Wentz does suit up, thanks largely to the quality of Nick Foles as his stand-in.

These odds are in line with some recent reporting that indicates it may be a few more weeks before we see the Eagles’ quarterback return from his major knee injury. The Eagles themselves are being tight-lipped about his status and taking it week-by-week.
