Odell Beckham says ankle injury will take 6-8 weeks to fully heal
Odell Beckham Jr may be getting closer to returning to the field for the New York Giants, but the star wide receiver says he could still be a month away from being fully recovered.
Beckham hurt his ankle in a preseason game about a month ago. On Thursday, he told reporters that the sprain will take six to eight weeks to heal completely.
Biggest news coming out of OBJ chat was his injury is a 6-8 week recovery. They aren't even at a month yet. #Giants

That doesn’t necessarily mean Beckham will be held out again this week when the Giants take on the Detroit Lions Monday night, but it is somewhat concerning.
Beckham was seen on the field doing some drills before last Sunday’s game, and the Giants are reportedly optimistic that he will be able to return for their Week 2 game. New York’s offense was held to just three points in a loss to the Dallas Cowboys, so they could certainly use the help.
One of the issues with Beckham could be that he has been seeking a contract extension and still has not gotten one. Even if he did decide to take out a massive insurance policy, he may be more reluctant to play hurt as long as he is less than pleased with his contract situation.
