Odell Beckham Jr: I have ‘no problem’ with my teammates

Odell Beckham catch

Odell Beckham Jr. is not upset with any of his New York Giants teammates for picking on him, despite the fact that he recently admitted they were getting on his nerves.

Last week, Beckham said he has had a difficult time nursing his injured hamstrings while also having to listen to “little remarks” from his teammates.

“For me, this is what I love doing, and this is what I feel like my purpose was to do,” he told Dan Graziano of ESPNNewYork.com. “So it takes a lot of strength for me to be able to come here every day and not practice, have to hear the little remarks, the little jokes, this and that.

“And it’s not just about a hamstring. It’s so many other things that people talk about. So it’s hard to come here and try and focus on ‘What play is up right now?’ instead of thinking about how bad you want to be out there.”

Beckham backpedaled on Wednesday.

“I have no problem with anybody on the team or inside or anything,” he told the New York Post in an attempt to set the record straight. “It was more of, you know, I feel like you can’t take someone’s words and you can’t really tell the tone they’re saying. I’m like, ‘Yeah, it gets a bit frustrating when teammates joke with you,’ and it gets written that he’s frustrated with teammates and it’s like it’s not how it sounds. It’s weird sometimes.”

Beckham said teammates have been making comments to him like “you’re too big-time now” while he has been out of practice. It was obviously bothering him, or he wouldn’t have said anything in the first place.

For what it’s worth, this isn’t the first time a second-year Giants player has expressed frustration over the way his teammates were treating him. The last guy was sick of getting tossed in a cold tub.
