Packers got away with illegal shift penalty on touchdown
The Green Bay Packers scored a huge touchdown before halftime to take a 17-11 lead on the Washington Redskins in their NFC wild-card playoff game Sunday, but the touchdown actually should not have counted.
As FOX NFL officiating guru Mike Pereira explained on TV, the Packers got set, then audibled and switched things up, but not everyone got set before they snapped the ball. Pereira says an illegal shift penalty should have been called, which would have cost the Packers five yards and the touchdown.
Aaron Rodgers threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams on the play to give Green Bay the lead going into halftime, but it should not have counted.
