Packers may not start ‘sore’ Aaron Rodgers at QB
The Green Bay Packers are wisely considering the possibility of not playing Aaron Rodgers the rest of the season despite bringing him back from IR last week.
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy on Monday described Rodgers as “sore” from the big hits he took in Sunday’s loss to the Carolina Panthers.
Mike McCarthy remained non-committal about whether Aaron Rodgers will play Saturday vs. Minnesota: "Aaron Rodgers is sore, and rightfully so. He was hit too many times. Took two big hits. We're working through that and we'll see… https://t.co/Grj7FGBcql pic.twitter.com/JXDck4WUkQ

The head coach would not commit to Rodgers as the team’s starter in Week 16, which is what he was also saying after Sunday’s game.
It makes little sense for the Packers to play Rodgers in Weeks 16 and 17 if they’re eliminated from the playoffs. He rushed himself back despite not being fully healed from his broken collarbone. There’s no sense in having him risk more damage if the postseason is not on the line.
