Report: Patriots holding out hope Jimmy Garoppolo can play Thursday
It may be a bit farfetched, but the New England Patriots are still clinging to the hope that they’ll have Jimmy Garoppolo on Thursday.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Patriots are still trying to get Garoppolo ready for Thursday’s game against Houston.
Still a longshot, but Patriots have not given up hope yet that Jimmy Garoppolo can play Thursday, per team source. https://t.co/eOveFwaxAu

It still seems exceedingly unlikely that this happens. The more realistic scenario is that Garoppolo sits out a game but comes back after that rather quickly. The odds are that Jacoby Brissett will be under center for New England on Thursday for at least a game, and no more than two with Tom Brady two weeks away from returning from suspension.
