Patriots won’t let players exchange jerseys with opponents?
The act of exchanging jerseys after a game has become increasingly common across the NFL over the past couple seasons, but there is at least one team that won’t allow its players to take part in it.
Or, so Redskins defensive back Dashon Goldson says.
Goldson frequently trades jerseys with opponents after games. In a feature for the Washington Post, he told Master Tesfatsion that he tried to swap jerseys with Julian Edelman after Washington’s Week 9 loss to the Patriots and was turned down. Edelman said the Patriots won’t allow it.
“I think that’s whack but, hey, to each its own,” Goldson said. “That’s the only team I’ve encountered that didn’t.”
Or, it’s possible that Edelman simply didn’t want to trade jerseys with Goldson for some reason. As some have noted, Patriots players have swapped with opponents in the past:
Man, the Internet is lousy with pictures of Patriots players exchanging jerseys. pic.twitter.com/VzH6I0Ep8h

I mean, this LOOKS like there was an exchange about to be made. pic.twitter.com/YXIItwues5

Yeah and I know Amendola has swapped jerseys before. Don't think Goldson's quote is accurate https://t.co/3nW7SA2h18

Goldson said teams charge players when they give away a jersey (usually around $300), so maybe Edelman didn’t want to pay the fee. Plus, the last time the Patriots encouraged people to exchange jerseys it was for a very unfortunate reason. Edelman could have been having flashbacks.
