Perrish Cox Allegedly Raped, Impregnated Victim Who Thinks She Was Drugged

Denver Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox was arrested in December for alleged sexual assault and bonded out. He later pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault charges and he has a trial scheduled for October. The details of the case had been sealed by the judge until they were made public on Friday. Needless to say, the charges in the case are quite alarming.

A woman says she and a few friends went out to a club for a “white party” on Labor Day last year. The accuser’s friend was dating Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox, so the group of women hung out with Cox and Broncos receiver Demaryius Thomas in the VIP section of the club. Cox’s girlfriend (identified as “Che”) and the accuser say they only had four drinks during the evening yet both of them passed out and could hardly recall details from the night. According to the arrest affidavit, both women felt like they had been drugged.

The accusing woman says she and Demaryius Thomas were kissing in the car on the way back to Cox’s residence. Once at Cox’s residence, Cox and his girlfriend went into his room while Thomas and the accuser stayed in a different room. They apparently kissed before the accusing woman passed out. She recalls being fondled by Thomas before passing out. When she woke up, she says she felt like she had had sex, though she could not recall what happened. Thomas told her he left after she passed out.

The accusing woman, her friend, and Cox went out to breakfast the next morning. The accusing woman says she found it odd that Cox kept insisting she take a shower to clean up. The woman felt like something happened and even went to the hospital to see about getting rape tests done, but she backed out because they would have been too expensive. Informed they would be free if she filed a police report, she declined to file such a serious charge until she had more information.

Several weeks later, she says some of the same men were making fun of her for putting on weight and they joked she was pregnant. That inspired her to take a home pregnancy test which confirmed she was pregnant. The pregnancy tests also confirmed the baby was conceived around September 3rd or 4th, which fits in with the Labor Day party timeline.

Perrish Cox was reluctant to provide a DNA sample, but eventually he relented. The DNA test proved he was the father of the child, which suggests he had sex with the woman and impregnated her while she was passed out.

Here are two other interesting details. One, Cox’s girlfriend (Che), was on her period and didn’t feel like she had sex because her tampon was still in the next morning (implication: Cox wanted some and couldn’t get it from her). Two, and this is something I don’t understand, the accusing woman found out October 28th, 2010 that she was 10.5 weeks pregnant. They said that puts her date of conception around September 3rd or 4th. Maybe my math is wrong, but 10.5 weeks prior to October 28th is the middle of August to me, not the beginning of September. Am I missing something?

Granted, Perrish Cox’s DNA coming back as a match for the baby’s father is pretty strong evidence, but isn’t there something wrong with the timeline there? Please correct me if I’m wrong.

The remaining pertinent information to the story is that Che broke up with Cox because she felt like she could not trust him. She felt like he was doing things with other women, and she was upset he was not forthcoming about having children with other women in the past. Cox comes across as a shady dude, and this is one of the worst stories I’ve heard. Let’s hope he didn’t do what the evidence suggests he did.
