Pete Carroll ‘real disappointed’ in OL’s penalties during scrimmage
The Seahawks have dealt with a lot of issues along their offensive line in recent seasons, which is why they tried to revamp the unit heading into 2018. While on paper it looks like there should be significant improvement, head coach Pete Carroll has not been pleased in training camp.
During a scrimmage game on Saturday, Carroll pulled offensive tackle Germain Ifedi in the middle of a drive because of penalties. He was later critical of his O-line when speaking with reporters.
Pete Carroll makes it clear he pulled RT Germain Ifedi from starting offense mid-drive of mock game because of (more) penalties. “I was real disappointed in that. REAL disappointed” Isaiah Battle replaced him. George Fant still working back from knee reconstruction #Seahawks

The Seahawks fired offensive line coach Tom Cable this offseason and replaced him with Mike Solari. They also signed former first-round pick D.J. Fluker to a one-year deal. All of Seattle’s projected O-line starters were drafted in either the first or second round, but we know that doesn’t mean much.
Seattle has struggled mightily in both the run game and pass protection, which is part of the reason Russell Wilson has dealt with some injuries in recent seasons. It’s no coincidence that Carroll is putting a lot of pressure on his O-line this offseason, and Seahawks fans can only hope Saturday’s disappointment was not a sign of things to come.
