Peyton Manning will not play against Bears
Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak announced Monday that Brock Osweiler will start in place of Peyton Manning against the Chicago Bears next weekend.
Kubiak said that Manning was “doing everything he could” to be able to play, but he needs to focus his attention on getting healthy.

Kubiak: “I’ve gotta do what’s best for the player; for the team. … I’ve been through it as a player. …It’s a different week for [Osweiler]."

Manning was benched in Sunday’s loss to the Kansas City Chiefs after he threw four interceptions. Kubiak said after the game that he never should have had Manning play. Peyton was said to be battling through a rib injury during the week, and it appears he is now dealing with a more serious foot injury.
It’s obvious Manning is nowhere close to 100 percent. When you add injuries to a body that is clearly in physical decline, this is the result you get. If the Broncos beat the Bears and Osweiler plays well, Kubiak will have some incredibly difficult decisions to make.
