Report: Rams working on contract extension for Jeff Fisher

Jeff Fisher Rams

The approval rating for Jeff Fisher in Los Angeles is very low at this moment, but that might not matter to the Rams organization.

According to a report from ESPN LA’s Alden Gonzalez, the Rams are working on contract extensions with GM Les Snead and head coach Jeff Fisher.

Gonzalez says the extensions “have yet to be finalized” but “are still expected to get done.”

And as reported by Turf Show Times, ESPN’s John Clayton also mentioned on the radio this week that the Rams were working on an extension for Fisher. He said in this clip that they were talking about a 3-year extension.

Fisher is in the final year of a five-year contract signed in 2012. Perhaps the Rams made some promises to the likes of Snead and Fisher about securing their futures in order to comfort them about the move from St. Louis to LA. There was talk going back to March about the sides working on an extension.

Fisher has been the head coach of the Rams since 2012. The team has won seven games in three of his seasons and went 6-10 in the other. They got shutout 28-0 in their opener against the 49ers and apparently had their schemes decoded by San Francisco.
