Rams to appear on HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’

HBO-Hard-Knocks

The Los Angeles Rams are going to be generating some buzz in their new city before the NFL season starts, as they are reportedly set to appear on the latest installment of HBO’s “Hard Knocks.”

According to Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to announce at the owners meetings on Wednesday that the Rams have been chosen.

“It’s clear both in Southern California and nationwide there’s significant interest in the return of the Rams to Los Angeles, and it seemed like a very good year to give people a look at our franchise and our players,” Rams chief operating officer Kevin Demoff said. “We have one of the youngest teams, a lot of talented players — back-to-back rookies of the year — that we want people to start to get exposure to. What better way to do that than ‘Hard Knocks’?”

The 11th season of “Hard Knocks” will premiere on Aug. 9. In addition to the grind of training camp, the show will also focus on the relocating of the Rams franchise.

“Previous teams that have moved, it wasn’t something that we had covered fully like we’re going to cover the Rams,” NFL Films coordinating producer Ken Rodgers said. “What we try to do on the show is find a team that’s going on a mission, that’s going somewhere. Having a team that’s not only trying to get somewhere but is also physically moving just adds to the drama of training camp.”

We certainly can’t guarantee any moments as entertaining as the one Antonio Cromartie brought us several years ago, but at least there will be a unique spin on this year’s installment of the show.
