Ray Rice arrested after altercation with fiancee in Atlantic City
Rice’s attorney downplayed the incident in comments to the Sun, calling it a “very minor physical altercation.” The incident took place at Revel Casino on the Atlantic City Boardwalk, and Rice’s attorney believes the incident was a “misunderstanding.”
Rice’s fiancee was charged with a crime and released, while Rice was released on his own recognizance.
Earlier in the night, Rice, who is from New York and played college ball at Rutgers, was at the Royal Jelly Burlesque Nightclub with a group of people. All reports from the club director were that things went well and that Rice treated the staff well.
Rice was a second-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens in 2008 and is a three-time Pro Bowler. He’s coming off a down season where he only rushed for 660 yards on 214 carries for a career-low average of 3.1 ypc. He was limited by a hip injury most of the season but played through it.
