Redskins reportedly gauging trade market for Su’a Cravens

Su'a Cravens

The NFL reinstated Su’a Cravens from the reserve/left squad list earlier this month, which means he is one step closer to resuming his playing career. However, it is no surprise that he may not be doing so with the Washington Redskins.

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that the Redskins have been gauging the trade market for Cravens.

Cravens left the Redskins early last season under some unusual circumstances, and they eventually ruled him ineligible to play. He underwent knee surgery before the season began, and Redskins coach Jay Gruden said the former USC star was dealing with personal issues as rumors swirled that he was contemplating retirement.

While Cravens dealt with a knee injury last offseason and an arm injury during his rookie year, his agent released a statement back in December indicating concussions were the issue. There’s no denying the former USC star is a talented player, but it would be tough to imagine teams offering much in a trade given the situation.
