Report: Redskins intend to keep Jay Gruden
Despite an underwhelming season for the Washington Redskins, coach Jay Gruden’s job is reportedly safe.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, the Redskins are understanding of the wave of injuries Gruden had to endure in 2017, and the organization has no plan to make major changes after the season.
One coach to take off the hot seat, if he was ever on it: #Redskins coach Jay Gruden. There is a deep understanding of the injuries they battled and how he and his staff kept it together. Heading into Week 17, no plans for major changes in Washington, sources say.

At one point Gruden was without his entire starting offensive line and he still has a chance to lead Washington to a .500 season. Though there may be interest in his services from elsewhere, it certainly sounds like Gruden will not be leaving, and that’s probably the right call.
