Former Redskins QB Jay Schroeder has dumbest comment about team name

Jay-Schroeder

There are so many people out there who would be much better off keeping their opinion about the Washington Redskins’ team name to themselves. Former Redskins quarterback Jay Schroeder is near or at the top of that list.

Schroeder, who played in the nation’s capital from 1985-1987, recently expressed frustration with the controversy surrounding the Redskins name debate. Warning: You will be dumber after hearing his argument.

“I think it’s been blown way out of proportion,” he told Chris Tomasson of The Pioneer Press. “I think that the Washington Redskins have represented the Redskins name very well through the years and bringing glory to it.

“Let’s take the context of the word Panthers. It’s an animal, but let’s recall what happened in the 1960s with the militant groups (the Black Panthers). If you’re going to take that context, you can take every word and look at it and decide what your own meaning is going to be.”

There you have it, folks. Daniel Snyder may be a moron for buying “keep the name” shirts and watching games with a disgraced Navajo Nation president, but I highly doubt he will ever offer an opinion as idiotic as the one you just read from Schroeder.
