UPDATE: Jaworski started backpedaling shortly after sending his tweet, and ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicated that it would be a “major upset” if the suspension was overturned.

Odell Beckham Jr has reportedly had his one-game suspension overturned.
Former New York Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes was the first to report the news, and ESPN’s Ron Jaworski later relayed the same report.

Assuming that is accurate, this is quite a surprise. Beckham’s appeal hearing took place on Wednesday, and there was a report that the topic of homophobic slurs did not even come up. It seemed like the basis of Beckham’s argument for having the one-game suspension thrown out would be that he was physically threatened by at least one Panthers player and also taunted.
Perhaps the NFL felt that fines were sufficient given the latest witness accounts of what was said to Beckham before the game. In any event, it’s hard to believe the league changed its ruling after you watch the videos of some of the cheap shots Beckham threw against Josh Norman.
The Giants are just a game behind the Redskins for first place in the NFC East, so having Beckham available against the Vikings would be an incredible break.
