Report: Tom Brady suffered ankle sprain, should be fine

Tom Brady

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady suffered a sprained ankle during Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins, but he is expected to be good to go for the playoffs.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that an MRI revealed Monday morning that Brady avoided a serious injury.

While that is good news for Patriots fans, Brady admitted on Sunday that he was “pretty sore” and appeared to be walking with a significant limp after meeting with the media.

Getting a first-round bye was arguably more important for the Patriots than any other team. This should allow them to get Julian Edelman back on the field and hopefully have some of their offensive linemen heal up. It will also give Brady two weeks to recover from the ankle injury.

New England closed out the regular season 2-4, but given the scary hit Rob Gronkowski took several weeks ago (video here), the Pats have to be feeling pretty good about where they’re at. It could have been a lot worse.
