Report: Rex Ryan has cleaned out his office

Rex-Ryan-crying

In case you were wondering if there was some way the New York Jets might decide to keep Rex Ryan around for another season, it appears the sixth-year head coach has already begun the process of parting ways with the team.

According to Dom Cosentino of NJ.com, Ryan has already cleaned out his office at the Jets’ facility in New Jersey. Charley Casserly, who has been hired as a consultant by Jets owner Woody Johnson, has already begun contacting prospective replacements for Ryan.

Cosentino adds that Ryan has not been officially informed that he will be fired, but there is obviously an understanding between him and the organization.

In addition to Rex, it appears that general manager John Idzik is also going to lose his job. Casserly has reportedly started looking for replacements for Idzik, too. Considering the recent story that ran on the Jets website about the GM, that hardly comes as a surprise.
