Rex Ryan to interview with Bills

Rex Ryan

Rex Ryan is easily one of the most popular unemployed men in sports, in terms of both potential coaching positions and television jobs. His recent schedule has been loaded with interviews, and you can add the Buffalo Bills to that list.

Kimberly Jones of NFL.com reports that Ryan is scheduled to interview with the Bills on Thursday. Buffalo is a team that is suddenly in need of a head coach in the wake of Doug Marrone’s unexpected departure.

In addition, Rex is still keeping his options open with television networks. The New York Daily News reports that he will meet with executives from CBS on Wednesday. Ryan has already interviewed with ESPN, though any potential TV gig is seen as a fallback plan at this point.

Ryan is said to have no interest in taking a defensive coordinator job, so he would likely take a year off and work as a TV analyst if he does not get a head coaching offer. Given the amount of interest teams have shown in him early on, we don’t think he’ll have trouble getting one.
