Richard Sherman thinks Saints got help from officials
Richard Sherman was particularly upset with the referees in the Seahawks’ game against the Saints in New Orleans on Sunday for some of their calls.
The Seattle cornerback was penalized for defensive holding on a key 3rd and 6 play from the New Orleans 45 late in the fourth quarter. That gave the Saints a first down and kept New Orleans’ drive going, which resulted in a field goal to put the Saints up 25-20. Had the penalty not been called, the Seahawks would have gotten the ball back down 22-20.
Sherman thinks the referees were trying to help out the Saints:
Sherman on the holding call in 4th Q: "I think they needed a first down on a crucial drive and the refs made sure they got it.''

Sherman called the calls “egregious” and said the refs weren’t shy about their bias:

Meanwhile, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll alluded to the officials after the game by expressing surprise that the 26th-ranked penalty team in the league only was called for two penalties.
Pete Carroll on #Saints' 2 penalties: "That’s the 26th-ranked penalty football team in the league and they just had a great football game."

Given some of the ridiculous calls the Seahawks have benefited from (like this), it’s hard to have any sympathy for them.
