Richie Incognito to ‘best friend’ Jonathan Martin: The truth will bury you
Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito decided on Wednesday that he was done keeping quiet about the situation with teammate Jonathan Martin. Incognito blasted Martin in a series of tweets and warned that the truth is going to “bury” him.
I'm ready to move on with my life and career. I've been dragged through the mud for months by my "best friend". #betrayed #railroaded

Dear Jon Martin….. The truth is going to bury you and your entire "camp". You could have told the truth the entire time.

Jon Martin—you started all of this when Kenny Zuckerman released the VM to ESPN. The same VM we joked about with @brianhartline

Kenny Zuckerman from Priority Sports…. What do you have to say for your actions? Why did you release the VM. What was your goal ?

I'm guilty of being a loyal friend and good teammate. I apologize for my poor language and rude remarks. I've never denied it.

Incognito was referring to the racially-charged message that he allegedly left Martin, during which he supposedly threatened Martin.

Whether the two were close or not, it is easy to understand how Incognito got that impression when you comb through the text messages they exchanged over several months. Incognito said some inappropriate stuff to Martin, but for the most part Martin gave it right back. If Martin was uncomfortable with it, he did a good job of hiding it.
There are still plenty of details to uncover before we can fully understand the dynamic between the two. Incognito seems confident that those details will prove his innocence.
