Riley Cooper’s Wikipedia page was updated accordingly after racist comment
Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper saw his world turned upside-down on Wednesday when a video of him making an incredibly insensitive racist comment hit the internet. Cooper apologized almost immediately after the clip went viral, but the damage is already more than done.
On Wednesday afternoon, someone managed to pull the old Wikipedia trick on Cooper by updating his page to reflect his regrettable moment. The changes were quickly corrected by Wikipedia’s people or magic wizards or whatever they use, but not before CBSSports.com’s Will Brinson was able to capture the hack job.
This is not something that’s going to go away. Cooper has already been fined by the Eagles and the NFL could issue its own form of punishment, but the question is how badly he will pay for it in the locker room. The reality of the situation is that Cooper’s teammates may never think the same of him again.
