Report: Rob Bironas tried to run multiple cars off road, threatened to kill people

Rob Bironas

Former Tennessee Titans kicker Rob Bironas died on Saturday night after flipping his car in a brutal single-car crash in Nashville, and the details surrounding the incident have gotten more bizarre by the day. On Tuesday, two Belmont students told The Tennessean that Bironas threatened to kill them and tried to run them off the road minutes before his accident.

Connor Fraley, a 20-year-old student, said he was a passenger in a pickup truck full of people that Bironas threatened and tried to sideswipe with his white SUV. Fraley said he and the others in the truck notice a burning smell coming from Bironas’ vehicle and tried to inform him about it.

“His window was down, and we pulled up and I said, “Hey man, just a heads up, something’s burning from your exhaust. Your exhaust smells horrible, just wanted to let you know,” Fraley said he told Bironas. “He looked over at me and said, ‘I’m going to kill everybody in your (expletive) vehicle.’ It was so random, so bizarre I was like, ‘What?’ And he said the exact same thing again.”

When the driver of the Ford F-150 Fraley was in turned left, he says Bironas followed them and tried to sideswipe them.

“The girls in the back seat were starting to freak out because he was swerving on the road in between lanes, all over the place,” he explained. “We had no idea who he was and why he was trying to harm us. It was a fight or flight situation and, unfortunately, we had to take flight at about 110 miles per hour. It was very scary.”

Fraley said he is certain it was Bironas that threatened and chased after him and his friends. He said he got chills when he listened to the 911 call from a woman who described Bironas as “crazy” and “dangerous” and claimed the former Titan tried to run her off the road.

Something very unusual went on that night. As LB mentioned before, it’s quite strange that Bironas’ wife would call police to report him missing after not being able to get ahold of him for just 30 minutes. Police also said alcohol was not believed to be a factor, which makes Bironas’ behavior even more strange. There’s a lot more to this story.
