Rob Gronkowski active against Texans, will be on snap count
Rob Gronkowski’s 2016 season debut will indeed be taking place on Thursday.
According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the New England Patriots tight end will officially be active against the Houston Texans.

However, Dianna Russini, also of ESPN, adds that the four-time Pro Bowler will be on a snap count and will rotate.
While Gronk will be active tonight, I'm told he will rotate and be on a play count per sources. #Patriots #Texans

Gronkowski had reportedly been telling teammates that he would play, and now the stage appears to be set for his return.
The Patriots have won their first two games of the season in Gronk’s absence, but are in dire straits at the quarterback position with rookie Jacoby Brissett making his first career start under center thanks to Jimmy Garoppolo’s injury and Tom Brady’s suspension. Gronkowski rotating tight end snaps with Martellus Bennett will be a boost, but it will still be a tough offensive matchup against a menacing Texans pass rush.
