Rob Gronkowski suffers groin injury in Week 2
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski left Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints with an injury, and early speculation was that the Pro Bowler may have tweaked his back. However, the team later said the issue was with his groin.
Gronk appeared to be in pain immediately after being tackled in the third quarter. He wasn’t hit particularly hard on the play, and CBS analyst Tony Romo noted that it looked like a back injury. Romo, as you know, dealt with a number of serious back injuries during his NFL career.
Here’s a video of the play:

Fortunately, Gronkowski was later spotted riding a stationary bike on the sideline. The team said he was questionable to return with a groin injury.
Last season, Gronkowski underwent his third back surgery since college. He appeared to be back to his old dominant self early in Sunday’s game on a great catch-and-run for a touchdown, but Patriots fans were understandably nervous after he went down.
