Rob Gronkowski has ‘possible guns’ stolen during home burglary

A rough week got a little bit worse for Rob Gronkowski when he returned to Foxboro on Monday, as the Patriots tight end reportedly discovered that his home had been burglarized.

FOX 25 news in Boston obtained video footage of police arriving at Gronkowski’s home on Monday after they received a call of a break-in. According to the police audio recording, a dispatcher said the homeowner — presumably Gronk — reported that his house was broken into while he was on a trip and that “multiple safes” and “possible guns” had been stolen.

Tom Savino, one of Gronkowski’s neighbors, told FOX 25 that he noticed something odd going on at Gronkowski’s home and was planning to speak with police about it.

“We went past the house on Sunday, about 12:30-1 p.m., and I happened to notice the gate was ajar, which is very unusual,” Savino explained. “You never see that gate ajar. So, as a joke, my son and I said, ‘Gee, maybe we should just call the police or something.’ Now I’m sort of sorry I didn’t.”

Gronkowski caught nine passes for 116 yards and two touchdowns in a 41-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII. He hinted after the game that it is not a guarantee that he will return in 2018.
