Rob Gronkowski reportedly day-to-day with ankle injury
New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski left Sunday’s game late with an ankle injury, and it sounds like there’s a chance it could be enough to keep him out in Week 5.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, Gronkowski is considered day-to-day.
#Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski is considered day-to-day with an ankle injury that knocked him out late on Sunday, I’m told. Not horrible, but not ideal on a short week.

That’s obviously a lot better than a sprain that is expected to keep Gronk out several weeks, but the problem is the Patriots are playing on Thursday night. They’re hosting the Indianapolis Colts on a short week, and Gronkowski has been listed on the injury report a few times with an ankle injury this season. It would not be a surprise if New England decided to hold him out, especially with Julian Edelman returning in a game that should be easy to win.
