Rob Gronkowski latest to shrug off Jalen Ramsey criticisms
Don’t expect Rob Gronkowski to get into a war of words with Jalen Ramsey ahead of their Sunday afternoon meeting.
Ramsey called Gronkowski overrated in an oft-quoted GQ interview last month, and those comments came back to the forefront ahead of the meeting between the New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 2. Gronkowski isn’t all that interested in involving himself in any back-and-forth, preferring to let his play on the field speak for itself.
“Just talking trash all week, I mean, it’s really not my focus. It’s really not this team’s focus,” Gronkowski told NFL Total Access on Wednesday, via Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com. “Being here throughout the nine years, being under coach Belichick’s wing throughout the years, learning from him, learning from the other veteran players here, we really don’t get into talks like that.
“I feel like that talking right there, going out preparing and showing what we can do Sunday is louder than just talking trash all week. It makes it fun, though.”
Gronkowski may be taking a more measured approach, but his girlfriend was more than happy to fire back at Ramsey in more direct terms. It will be particularly entertaining if the two players are matched up with each other in Sunday’s contest.
