Robert Griffin III: DeSean Jackson is not getting No. 10
DeSean Jackson is going to have to find a new number with the Washington Redskins. The 2013 Pro Bowler wore No. 10 during his six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, but that number is currently taken by a fairly important player in Washington. Some of you may know him as RG3.
In his introductory press conference with his new team, Jackson told reporters that it had not yet been determined who would wear No. 10 for the Redskins next season. That sparked a bunch of unnecessary speculation that Robert Griffin III put to rest.
Fans everywhere please calm down. Not changing my # @DeseanJackson10 will kick off his new beginning with us in a new one #HTTR

Players work out deals to exchange jersey numbers all the time. Eric Decker recently had to take one of his new teammates to a nice dinner and pay him a huge chunk of cash for No. 87. Jackson may be able to talk another player into giving up his second-favorite number, but he’s not getting 10. RG3 is supposed to be the face of the franchise. Faces of the franchise typically don’t change jersey numbers.
