Robert Griffin III will reportedly undergo MRI on sprained shoulder

Robert Griffin

Unfortunately, the move to Cleveland doesn’t appear to have finally swung injury luck in Robert Griffin III’s favor.

The Browns quarterback suffered a sprained left shoulder late in the fourth quarter of Cleveland’s Week 1 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles (video here). He will undergo an MRI on Monday after admitting postgame to being “in pain,” per Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

The former Heisman winner was otherwise unimpressive on Sunday, finishing 12-of-26 for 190 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception. Griffin was thoroughly outplayed by rookie Carson Wentz, and it was ultimately a disappointing Cleveland debut for a guy who the Browns seem to view as a potential franchise quarterback.

With Griffin already hurting and a lethargic teamwide performance in Week 1 not exactly inspiring much confidence, the Browns faithful could be in store for another long season.
