Robert Griffin III has drawn trade interest from at least two teams

Robert Griffin III

Robert Griffin III will be playing for a new team in 2016, and apparently at least a few franchises have interest in him.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that at least two teams have reached out to Washington about trading for Griffin. RG3 has a $16.2 million option for next season which would become guaranteed if he were on the team’s roster when the new league year begins on March 9.

The Redskins have already said that Griffin will be playing elsewhere next season. Team president Bruce Allen told The Mighty 1090’s “Dan Sileo Show” that some teams were interested in RG3.

“I see Robert getting an opportunity with another team,” Allen said. “We’ve heard from some teams that are interested. I think he’s going to have a choice of a couple teams that will let him excel in the future.”

Previous reports said the Dallas Cowboys might be one of the teams interested in Griffin, but the latest information said the team did not see him as a fit. The Denver Broncos, who are awaiting a decision from Peyton Manning, are also said to have interest in the former Offensive Rookie of the Year.
