Ron Jaworski: No QB in 2017 draft is worthy of first-round pick

DeShaun Watson

The 2017 NFL Draft class is not considered to be loaded with quarterback talent, but it is a virtual certainty that at least two — and possibly as many as four — players at that position will be selected in the first round. As far as Ron Jaworski is concerned, the teams making those picks will end up regretting it.

In an appearance on “SportsCenter” Tuesday morning, Jaworski said he does not believe there is a QB in this year’s class that deserves a first-round grade.

We have heard numerous analysts and talent evaluators say no QB in the 2017 class is ready to start at the NFL level right away, so Jaworski’s assessment is not all that surprising. There has been speculation that one QB could go as high as first overall, but that seems incredibly unlikely.

Most mock drafts expect North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky and Clemson’s Deshaun Watson to come off the board in the first 32 picks. Pat Mahomes of Texas Tech and DeShone Kizer are also in the mix, though the latest report we heard about the latter does not sound promising.
