Report: Ryan Fitzpatrick has sprained MCL
New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick reportedly has a sprained MCL in his left knee.
According to ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the injury is not a serious one, though it does call into question his availability for next week’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Coach Todd Bowles maintained after the loss to Miami that Fitzpatrick would remain his starter, but his practice performance in light of the injury will probably have a say in that.
Fitzpatrick left Sunday’s game for just four snaps, returning shortly after suffering the injury. Bryce Petty was his replacement in the series that he missed, and would likely take over for him if it were determined that Fitzpatrick couldn’t go.
