Saints reportedly looking to trade Kenny Vaccaro

The New Orleans Saints spent Week 1 making Sam Bradford look like Peyton Manning, and they are reportedly looking to make some major changes on the defensive side of the ball just one week into the season.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the Saints began shopping starting safety Kenny Vaccaro in trade talks earlier in the week. Vaccaro is one of the most talented players on a defense that has played poorly in recent years, but Rapoport notes that the team did not get very far in contract talks with him this past offseason. He is playing this season under the fifth-year option on his rookie contract and will make $5.7 million guaranteed.

The Saints used the No. 15 overall pick on Vaccaro in the 2013 NFL Draft. They have spent a number of high draft picks on defensive players in recent years, but their defense continues to struggle. Bradford completed 27-of-32 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns against New Orleans Monday night.

Vaccaro was flagged for a vicious hit on Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs in Week 1.
