Saints reporter Larry Holder has great response to Jahri Evans criticism
New Orleans Saints beat reporter Larry Holder, who has written for The Times-Picayune since 2012, wrote a piece earlier this week that included some criticism of All-Pro offensive guard Jahri Evans. While Holder noted that it was Evans’ blocking that sprung two crucial touchdowns in a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he also concluded that Evans was “chewed up” by Bucs defensive tackle Gerald McCoy for much of the game. Evans did not appreciate that.

Holder was simply doing his job. The Saints are off to an incredibly disappointing start and should have been able to manhandle a Bucs team that was on the road for a third consecutive week. But don’t worry, Holder got the last laugh with a perfectly-executed comeback.

Burned. The Sun Herald in Mississippi won a Pulitzer Prize in 2006 for its coverage of Hurricane Katrina. Holder was with the paper at the time and took part in the honors. Evans and his 2-3 Saints are now very much aware of that.
