Sam Bradford has great response to report about contract offer
Sam Bradford had a great response when asked about the report saying the Philadelphia Eagles offered him a 4-year, $72 million contract extension before the season started that he turned down.
“That offer must have got lost in the mail,” Bradford said after practice Wednesday via CSN Philly. “I never saw that one.”
Bradford is playing out the last year of his rookie deal, which paid him $78 million over six years. Bradford was lucky in the financial sense that he was the No. 1 pick in the last draft class to make absurd money before the newer slotting system was introduced.
As poorly as he has played this season, I can’t imagine anyone offering him anything near that kind of money. Mediocre quarterbacks who are capable of starting in the league are worth some money, but not $18 million a season. Also, it’s just as likely that the report was inaccurate in the first place.
