Seahawks do not expect Earl Thomas to hold out

Earl Thomas

There have been plenty of rumors about Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas and his future with the organization, but general manager John Schneider seems to have gotten some assurances.

Schneider said that he has been given indications by Thomas’s representatives that a threatened holdout will not come to pass.

“No, I don’t. I don’t,” Schneider said when asked if he believes Thomas would hold out, via Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times. “He has not said he would hold out. His representatives told me that.”

Schneider also said the plan is to have Thomas on the team at the start of the season.

“He is right now. He’s on our roster,” Schneider said. “I hope so. I hope he is. He’s under contract.”

Pete Carroll has also been pretty clear that he believes Thomas will be on the team despite plenty of rumors. The Seahawks’ braintrust seem to know something.
