Steelers place franchise tag on Le’Veon Bell
If Le’Veon Bell and the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to come to an agreement on a long-term contract this offseason, it will have to come after the star running back is hit with the franchise tag for a second straight year.
On Tuesday, the Steelers officially placed the tag on Bell.

Bell said earlier in the week that he was hopeful to avoid being tagged again, but it has been headed in this direction for a while. He said he is willing to go to extreme measures to not have to play under the tag for a second consecutive season, and the two sides probably aren’t all that close on a deal if they haven’t agreed to one by now.
