Steelers tight end Heath Miller announces retirement

heath-miller-steelers

Steelers tight end Heath Miller has announced his retirement from the NFL.

The news came abruptly via a report on the team’s official website, with Pittsburgh being the only franchise Miller played for during his eleven year career.

Miller was a two-time Super Bowl champion as well as a two-time Pro Bowler. He holds virtually every Steelers tight end record and is second in franchise history in receptions overall, and even ranks in the top ten in NFL history for receptions and receiving yards by a tight end.

The 33-year-old retires despite still being an effective player, as he racked up 500 receiving yards for the ninth consecutive season, catching two touchdowns as well.

Ben Roethlisberger liked throwing to Miller, if this serves as any evidence, so the tight end’s retirement will definitely not go unnoticed.
